STRANDS OF LIFE IN BREVITY

What do we seek?

This write-up is basically about few aspects of life and how in different ways through different stages, life gives us various reality checks. The word ‘life’ entails a subjective connotation about everything in general. It is anything and everything that living beings in general experience in their whole lifetime. My individual take on life is a critical and cynical one.

Life should precisely be a perfect blend of certainties and uncertainties, but is it always so? Life in certain aspects and arenas is required to be a linear guidance like your pathway to build your career has to be so. You have to decide for yourself what you want to pursue in your career, how much passion and interest you possess for that, most importantly in what ways are you willing to sacrifice to fend your dreams. That basically needs chalking out even vaguely something for yourself. However, your romantic or courtship life and it’s undefined phases cannot possibly be under anyone’s jurisdiction. You might find your love in person or in some social media site and either way it should stay-because love is supposed to keep you grounded and sane against the real world. It has to happen with time and destiny. Quite contrary to your career which can take a shape with your efforts, perseverance , diligence and focus ; your love life cannot evolve following those parameters. It will with time take shape and bloom if at all it has to.

When it comes down to my personal choice, I would want my life to be roughly under my control and congruous but I cannot negate the fact that specific facets of my life will unfold without any prior hints. Even the successes and the tragedies that hit you out of the blue will help you shape up as a person. So pardon my own dissent, but what truly shapes you as a person is not that guided tour you take for your life to take off but the sudden experiences and obstacles that life throws at you. Let life be like the poem of Robert Frost “The Road Not Taken” - joyful or troublesome who cares? Be proud of yourself that you at least took that risky, bumpy ride. And who knows, maybe risk entails luck!

In today’s day and age, social media plays an enduring role in almost every individual’s life . Social media just doesn’t give the opportunities of finding your partner or entertainment (of any kind) in generic sense but it even provides you with the real knowledge of what is happening in your country and the world at large. However, it is up to your discretion whether you want to be aware or not though social media does give you that prospect. There are various media houses who report many politico-socio-economic happenings of different countries on social media. Biased news or unbiased news is something else but at least there is news on social media nowadays. We can today even know about the natural adversaries that affect the Amazon rainforest or wildfires of Australia and draw the long-term disadvantage it necessitates for world ecology and in no way should we trivialize such issues.
