The eyelashes are among the body parts that make you realize even more that people are indeed made wonderfully. Whether they long, short, thick or thin, they are awesome in many ways. The sad thing, however, is that you might sometimes forget how delicate they truly are, that taking care of them and treating them nicely gets overlooked.
Because of the many habits that you might be doing, your beautiful eyelashes might get damaged. Yes, they get ruined too. It’s most of the time not obvious, but you will feel when that happens.
Below are some of the bad habits that harm your eyelashes:
The most well-known makeup product for the eyelashes is the mascara. It adds volume to the eyelashes and makes them stand out even more. It gives your eyes a different catchy look.
If you apply it on your lashes, you are aware that it makes them dry, hard and stiff. Your eyelashes aren’t able to naturally breathe -- also why you feel like they’re heavy. Mascara also makes the eyelashes become thin or thinner. They can eventually fall out due to it as well.
Using mascara must not be daily because you’re depriving your eyelashes of getting a break. Too much of it is unhealthy. If you’re not leaving the house or if it’s definitely unnecessary for your appointment, there’s no need to apply mascara.
An eyelash curler is probably one of your favorite beauty tools because it makes your eyelashes even more elegant as they get curled. It gives you a nice look. Your eyes catches others’ eyes with those well curled lashes!
There are however wrong ways of curling your eyelashes, and you might be doing some or all of them. Curlers are helpful but improper usage makes them bad.
Without being careful and thoughtful, you might forcefully do the curling as you pull on your eyelashes. Curling after applying mascara is also wrong. Doing those mentioned can lead to weakened lash roots. Your eyes will get in trouble as well without the protective eyelashes.
Also, using a warmed curler can be risky because you might pinch or burn your eyelids. Your eyes can get hurt and seriously injured. Putting too much pressure can stress out your eyelashes, causing them to get pulled out.
Makeup removal is very vital. You have to do it so your skin can have its time to breathe and be healthy. It doesn’t just end there however because it must be done well and not harshly. You have the tendency to put a lot of force in clearing the mascara off of your eyelashes, leading to its weakening and eventually, falling off.
Because of the desire to have thicker and more attractive eyelashes while not spending too much, you might get yourself some false eyelashes. You may also just use it occasionally; it actually depends on you.
What you’re doing wrong here is buying bad quality falsies. You know, they are put together with your natural eyelashes, so they get in direct contact with each other. If the falsies are not hygienic, your eye health can be affected.
If you’ve worn falsies before, you already know that it’s challenging to put them on. You have to use a particular glue for them and manage them precisely. Removing your falsies is the most difficult part because the glue has already hardened to make the falsies stick on them. Irresponsibly ripping them off can remove your natural eyelashes too.
Most of the time, bad quality products for beautification purposes result to bad quality outputs, so make sure you get products that are well made and safe to use.
One of the beauty trends for the eyes nowadays is eyelash extensions. People get services for this because they want to have thicker and longer eyelashes that will make their eyes more emphasized and beautiful as they want.
A lot of people get outstanding results, but many also do not. If you’re one of the latter, it might be because you didn’t get them from a reputable, excellent salon. Certification is a very important sign that you can be assured to be given superb services. Don’t ignore looking for it.
Of course, if the salon you’re into offers low quality service generally, the care they give to your eyelashes can also be of poor quality. The eyelash extensions they apply on clients might not be of neat condition and fine grade. Your eyelashes can get ruined if you entrust them with a salon that performs with quality that needs lots of improvement.
If you sleep with mascara on, you’re definitely wrecking your eyelashes. They become stiff, and their roots weaken. You’ll wake up with a haggard appearance and a heavy feeling on your eyelids. It will be harder to remove them in the morning, and your eyes can hurt even more since you’ve just woken up.
If you’ve gotten your eyelash extensions from a first-rate lash studio that does well, then the damage can be incurred by you through improper aftercare and daily concern.
When you have eyelash extensions, you must not sleep on your stomach. You must even more avoid playing with them. They must not be exposed to too much heat and water right after their application. Makeup must not get in contact with them immediately, and you don’t need to use mascara often.
Not taking care of your eyelash extensions is not taking care of your eyelashes. What you do to those add-ons is what you do to your naturals.
When a product expires, it should not be used anymore. If your mascara and other makeup product for the eyelashes have already reached past its date of expiration, don’t use it anymore. It can nurture harmful bacteria, which can lead to lash damage, loss and infection.
You know that it’s nasty and unhealthy so do not do it. Even if you bought that makeup for a high price, if it’s already expired for some time already, it’s best to not use it anymore and to throw it out. You should’ve used it before regretting. Don’t make another regretful deed by using expired makeup. Move on and buy new ones.
Another thing that leads to many mishaps in one’s eye health (and in this case, eyelash health) is the lack of information and understanding about the should and shouldn’t be’s.
Before using any product, there must be thorough reading, research and comprehension of what the ingredients are. The same thing with all the beauty services out there; don’t just believe whosoever and whatsoever. Make sure that they are medically proven safe and effective.
Even if those things are safe, you could still experience some irritations and other possible troubles, so be certain that they are not only safe but also suitable for your own needs. Always consult an authorized expert for any beauty procedures; don’t just trust anyone and anything.
Being very careful helps you avoid the above-mentioned mistakes that ruin your beautiful eyelashes. Always consider safety and health over too much beauty.
