In one of the interviews, he said:

Mannat wasn’t always this ravishing building outside of which an endless horde of fans lurks. Back in the 1990s, this villa was owned by Kekoo Gandhy, a Parsi man who was of Gujarati-Origin. At that time, this mansion was known as ‘Villa Vienna.’
Mr. Kekoo and SRK were neighbors back in the days. So, when SRK came to know that Kekoo was planning to put the property on lease, he asked him to sell the same as SRK was really looking forward to buying it. So, in 2001, Shah Rukh brought Mannat at a staggering amount of Rs. 13.32 crore (The current worth of Mannat is Rs. 350 crore)
