Boomerang also included its name in the victim list of Tamilrockers piracy web site. Boomerang is a Tamil actioner that R Kannan writes, produces, and directs.
The film features the lead roles of Atharvaa, Megha Akash, and Indhuja. In Boomerang, Upen Patel plays the role of an antagonist, with Sathish, RJ Balaji, and Narayan Lucky also starring.
While the film is running successfully, this leak from Tamilrockers could impede the business of the film. For the film industry, tamilrockers have become a big problem. And after interference by film bodies and law enforcement agencies, the site has not stopped its operations.
Tamilrockers have seen films like Pottu, Sathru, Badla, Captain Marvel, Thadam, 90 ml, Luka Chuppi, Kanne Kalaimaane Pettikadai, and Total Dhamaal leaked in the recent past.
The plot of the movie is interesting enough to impress the viewer, but as the film progresses, the script falters. The need to accept farming, elements of corporate culture, emotional connection to the community, and so on, is interestingly depicted while viewers often feel disconnected.
Siva, who is enjoying a new lease of life, plans to start a company to look after his family. Little did he know he would face some problems in the days ahead. Siva discovers that someone is after his life after being targeted a few times by some strangers.
With his friend Gopal (Sathish) and girlfriend (Megha Akash), he sets off to Trichy to know Sakthi's whereabouts. We meet Maya (Indhuja), who tells them about Sakthi's life and explains why some people are after Siva. What follows is a tale of vengeance.
As Siva and Sakthi, Atharvaa excels in his roles while Sathish and RJ Balaji are respectively in charge of comedy in the first and second half. A few of Balaji's one-liners work as they fit well with the scenes. As a short filmmaker, Megha Akash is excellent, and Indhuja does her part convincingly. Upen Patel, who appears in a few scenes, gets wasted because his role is poorly written.
